Do you always seem to be running out of time and out of energy? Are you looking to make some healthy changes in your life, but you’re not quite sure where to start? Here, The Holistic Glen has head-to-toe health strategies that will keep you feeling and looking great:

Pamper Yourself

Even if life seems crazy busy, it’s important to take time for yourself and indulge in a luxurious spa experience once in a while. Pour a few drops of essential oils in a diffuser to infuse your bathroom with a calming scent, and step into your bathtub for a relaxing soak before bedtime, which will help you fall asleep and stay asleep longer. Or take a rejuvenating shower in the morning, and use a body scrub that will leave your skin soft and glowing. You’ll feel like a million bucks stepping out of the bathroom and ready to face another day, whatever your boss or your family throws at you.

Take self-care to the next level by reaching out to holistic health coach Glenna James of The Holistic Glen. She provides private, one-on-one sessions that address the whole person, including what you eat and how you can handle stress, all with holistic health techniques.

Work from Home

If your long commute to and from work is stressing you out, talk to your boss about working from home at least part of the time. You can also nix the commute to campus if you’re in the process of going for your advanced degree. Being a health-minded person, you may even want to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s in nursing, which will open your understanding of health and wellness to a whole new level. Taking coursework online is both convenient and affordable. Just be sure the school you choose is accredited – in the case of a nursing degree it should be recognized by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Working or studying from home allows you to sleep a little bit longer in the morning and spend more time with your family in the evening while still putting in a full day’s work. To avoid feeling isolated or lonely, break up your day and go out for coffee with a friend or coworker, or take a yoga class and do some poses that will help you stay physically strong and healthy while keeping you mentally sharp and reducing your stress levels, as Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health points out.

Declutter Your Space

Brauns Law Accident Injury Lawyers, PC suggests making more space for relaxation in your home by getting rid of clutter. Avoid getting overwhelmed with the job by starting small: clean out your junk drawer when you have a few minutes of free time, move on to cupboards and closets, then tackle one room at a time and sell, donate, recycle or trash your unwanted items. And now that your drawers and closets are clean, you can actually organize what you have left! Your morning routine will go much smoother when everything is in its place and everyone can quickly find their belongings.

Learn to Delegate

Are work and family obligations piling on, leaving you little time to take care of yourself? If you want to avoid burnout, make sure to prioritize the items on your to-do list, and see if you can delegate some of the more mundane tasks that eat up your day. If you have young children, teach them to help alongside you and fold up the laundry, empty the dishwasher, or fill up the dog bowl. Little ones naturally love to help, and it will be great bonding time as well. Also, consider hiring outside help to take care of house cleaning or backyard duties: your newfound free time may be well worth the cost.

Spend time in Nature

Spend time outdoors with your little ones and enjoy the sunshine. Go on a picnic or take an impromptu trip to your local zoo. Spend some time in nature, and don’t forget to pack a lotion that will deter bugs from “bugging” you and your little family, as well as sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays! Take a break from your screens and electronics and go get some fresh air and exercise. You’ll feel invigorated, and you’ll also get a better night’s sleep.

When you want to always be at your best, make sure you take time to pamper yourself! Delegate and prioritize to clear slots in your calendar. And don’t forget to get some fresh air and spend time with friends and loved ones.
